Campaign/Project Manager

701 Strategy Group is seeking a Campaign/Project Manager to work across a portfolio of projects, including but not limited to municipal and legislative campaigns, and/or ballot measure campaigns; civic engagement projects; and research projects. We are looking for someone who is an energetic self-starter, great at multitasking and forecasting short- and long-term needs. 


The Campaign/Project Manager will work very closely with the clients/candidates and be responsible for oversight of a broad range of campaign functions. They will also coordinate volunteers to ensure those functions run smoothly. The Campaign/Project Manager will work with Managing Partners to develop the overall campaign strategy and serve as a project manager with external vendors and internal specialist teams, with mentorship from Managing Partners.

Duties & Areas of Activity:

  • 70% Campaign/Project Management

    • Work with clients to achieve project goals, coordinating with managing partners and team members to get content and deliverables out the door

    • Explore innovative campaign tactics and testing

    • Support a broad array of project activities:

      • Develop a project plan, set goals and regularly ensure they are met

      • Maintain project dashboard tool and calendar

      • Develop messaging for project communications, including paid and earned media, social media, endorsements, events, etc. (as needed)

      • Recruit and build coalitions as needed

      • Take on tasks, big and small, as they arise for the success of projects

20% External development / Client management

  • Coordinate approvals for project/campaign materials with necessary parties

  • Meet with stakeholders on a regular basis to develop project/campaign strategy and goals, and provide updates

  • Maintain relationships with current clients/candidates, pursue opportunities to expand and reach new clients

  • Leverage company’s role in local and statewide spaces to build partnerships and coalition across leaders, non-profits, IE groups, and businesses

  • Maintain current knowledge of political dynamics and candidate recruitment efforts throughout the state

10% Internal development

  • Attend weekly meetings to ensure professional development, work to continue 

  • Support fellow campaign managers, meeting regularly to ensure campaign/project success and individual skills development

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1 or more cycle of campaign experience or project management a plus, but not necessary

  • Strong attention to detail, self-directed, flexible, takes a “no task too small” approach

  • Fluent in Google Workspace, particularly Sheets, Docs & Drive

  • Skills in diplomacy, negotiation, consensus building, and relationship development

  • Strong public speaking skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Comfortable working long, irregular hours in a fast-paced environment under deadlines

  • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment

  • Willingness to continually learn in a fast paced environment

 

Terms: Because negotiating is inherently inequitable, we want to be transparent about what benefits we can offer up front and avoid negotiation. 701 Strategy Group staff members receive a health insurance stipend, internet and phone stipend and a generous PTO program that includes two dark weeks per year when all employees are given the entire week off, separate from their regular paid time off, to rest and recharge.

 

Start Date:  March 1st, 2024

Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000 annually DOE

Location: Work from home, with weekly in person meetings in Fargo

Reports to: Managing Partner

Digital Communications Manager

701 Strategy Group is seeking a Digital Communications Manager to work across a portfolio of projects, including but not limited to municipal and legislative campaigns, and/or ballot measure campaigns; civic engagement projects; and research projects. We are looking for someone who is an energetic self-starter, great at multitasking and forecasting short- and long-term needs. 


The Digital Communications Manager will work very closely with the Project Managers and be responsible for developing and executing the project’s digital communication strategy. This role involves creating compelling digital content, managing online platforms, and ensuring consistent messaging across digital and traditional media channels for multiple projects at one time. 

Duties & Areas of Activity:

70% Campaign/Project Management

  • Work with clients to achieve project targets,, coordinating with managing partners and team members to manage and maintain a consistent message for projects. 

  • Explore innovative messaging tactics 

  • Support a broad array of project activities:

    • Develop and produce engaging written, visual, and multimedia content for digital channels, including website, social media, email campaigns, and video platforms

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital communication strategy that aligns with the project goals and the desired target audience. 

    • Create and curate images, video, and infographics for visual content

    • Plan and schedule digital content and monitor digital communication trends

    • Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase visibility and engagement, analyze social media performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly 

    • Create email marketing campaigns and oversee website content to ensure up-to-date accurate,  user friendly information

    • Take on tasks, big and small, as they arise for the success of projects

  • Maintain current knowledge of political dynamics and candidate recruitment efforts throughout the state
